K-12 teachers in all content areas are invited to join us for these exciting no-cost programs in Summer/Fall 2026!
  • Zoom Book Club: Discuss Brené Brown's new book, Strong Ground, over Zoom on July 8, 15, and 22 (all Wednesdays, 9:00-10:15am). THE BOOK CLUB HAS REACHED CAPACITY, SO REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. 

  • ​2026 Thinking and Writing Institute: Cultivate a community of belonging, foster your own creativity, and design equity-centered curriculum that matters to you and your students. This hybrid experience will begin with a July retreat on the CSU campus and run through the Fall 2026 semester on the dates listed below. ​​​​

Apply by Mon., July 13, at this link. The institute is limited to 20 participants.Only 3 spots remain as of 7/10.

REGISTRATION FOR 2027 IS NOW OPEN TO STUDENTS WHO ATTENDED OUR
​2026 WORKSHOPS.


General registration for all students begins on Feb. 1, 2027.

Students entering 4th-12th grade in the 2027-2028 school year are invited to register for our summer creative writing workshops, which will be held on the CSU campus. In these highly popular immersive workshops, students will experiment with writing techniques in various genres, work in writing groups, learn from published writers, and more! Snacks will be provided daily, and students will receive a free t-shirt at the end of the workshop.

THE CSUWP MISSION

The mission of CSUWP is to improve the teaching of writing by offering meaningful professional development for K-16 educators as well as innovative writing programs for youth writers. Informed by a social justice perspective, we are committed to providing equity and access to high-quality literacy programs for all learners.
